The cast of Downton Abbey is a large ensemble that impresses in many ways. This sort of advantage can work both ways, as some characters who were once the focus of a television series’ plot can sometimes get lost in the cinematic clutter. Writer/creator Julian Fellowes recently admitted that he felt some characters were left behind in the first film. So when it came time to write the story for them upcoming movie A new era, He consciously took the opportunity to bolster a couple of key figures of the Downton dynasty, Robert and Cora Grantham.
