The cast of Downton Abbey is a large ensemble that impresses in many ways. This sort of advantage can work both ways, as some characters who were once the focus of a television series’ plot can sometimes get lost in the cinematic clutter. Writer/creator Julian Fellowes recently admitted that he felt some characters were left behind in the first film. So when it came time to write the story for them upcoming movie A new era, He consciously took the opportunity to bolster a couple of key figures of the Downton dynasty, Robert and Cora Grantham.
Once again, it can’t be overstated that we’re going to go deep into the details, including a storyline that runs throughout this movie and ties directly to the ending. So if you haven’t seen the movie yet, you can still read something like my official review of Downton Abbey: A New Era to stay informed but unaffected. Now that we’ve got that formality out of the way, it’s time to revisit my conversation with Downton Abbey Author/Creator Julian Fellowes.
Takes place on press day A new era, The story of Robert and Cora was something I had to ask about another health crisis, this time relating to Cora Crawley, the Countess of Grantham. In the light of “Iconic character” promised in death Downton Abbeys Consequence, this choice felt like it had a purpose. With Cora and Robert, who both have very emotional plot lines this time. I felt like in the earlier film, while they were in it a lot, they were on screen, but they didn’t have their own particular emotional journey. And so I wanted to give them both something with some kind of meat on the bone for them to get their teeth in. So that was conscious.
Powerful rumors surround a movie like Downton Abbey: A New Era during its production cycle because the developments of the next chapter are awaited with anticipation. This time, the subject of much interest was speculation that an “iconic figure” was about to die Downton Abbey 2. Certain characters in the firmament of this fan-favorite series will always stand out. As much as Julian Fellowes knew Maggie Smith’s Dowager Countess was always a big win for the series, strengthening the relationship of Downtons beautiful couple continues to pay off for fans.
As always Downton Abbey 3 is not certain, but should there be another return into the life of the ever-growing Crawley family, the Foundation continues to offer ample opportunities. All that needs to happen is for the fans to hug A new eraand that day could come sooner than later.
