Halsey had a fiery reaction from fans who walked out of her concert in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday after the singer delivered an impassioned speech about abortion rights on stage.
On Monday, the 27-year-old hitmaker – who addresses the pronouns she/they – responded to a follower who tweeted that the “crowd of people” who left Halsey’s show in the Ak Chin Pavilion amphitheater after her remarks, was ‘disgusting’.
“Disadvantage of outdoor venues: no door to hit them on the way out,” Halsey wrote, adding a hand-waving emoji.

Speaking of which, on Monday, the 27-year-old hitmaker – who addresses the pronouns she/they – replied to a follower who tweeted that the “number of people” who left Halsey’s show at the Ak Chin Pavilion amphitheatre, Your comments were “disgusting”.
In a video from the concert, shared by Twitter user @stephxvg, Halsey was seen walking the stage as she implored her fans to take action after the United States Supreme Court ruled Friday, that the landmark Roe vs. Wade abortion right decision was overturned.
The ruling revoked decades-old constitutional rights to abortion and allowed states to set their own abortion laws.
Halsey said, “If you’re a man right now in this audience and you’re sharing stats on Instagram and infographics and you’re like, ‘This really sucks,’ you should instead be doing what you should be about sharing stories about how you’ve somehow made abortion have benefited,” said the three-time Grammy nominee.
They continued, “The truth is, looking at this audience breaks my heart because I see so many people who deserve to live incredible lives, who deserve the right to the healthcare they need who deserve the right to choose for themselves in a situation where there is a choice.

“I look at each and every one of you and I don’t want you ever to be in a situation where you don’t have access to it,” the pop star said. “Some of the people I’m studying right now are going to need an abortion one day, and you deserve it.”
“Whether it’s a life-threatening situation or not, you deserve it. And here in Arizona, you have to promise me that you will do this work so that the person on your left and on your right has that right for the rest of their lives.”
Seeing some of the attendees heading for the exits, Halsey waved at her with a scurrying motion and yelled, “If you don’t like it, you can go home right now. I do not care. If you don’t like it, I don’t know why you came to a Halsey concert.’
Speaking of the next stop on her Love and Power Tour in Dallas, Texas on Monday night, the singer spoke again about reproductive rights during her show at the Dos Equis Pavilion.

Halsey said: “The reality is that one in three people of childbearing age will have an abortion in their lifetime. One out of three!
They continued, “Look around, you’re in a building full of 15,000 people, so all these strangers you hear stories from that you don’t think apply to you in your real life, look to the left, look left Right, look ahead, look behind you.
“These people who are here, who are singing the same songs as you, who are here because they love the same things as you, maybe even you, there are people whose lives are being saved because they have an abortion.
‘I can tell you about one I’m sure I know. Right here,” the singer added while pointing to herself.
Halsey, who shares 11-month-old son Ender with partner Alev Aydin, has frequently spoken out about her own struggles with reproductive health.

At both concerts, Halsey led the crowd with rousing chants of “My body, my choice.”
On Tuesday, the New Jersey native defended herself against those who criticized her for speaking her mind during her performances.
They tweeted: “The argument ‘people pay to see you sing not to hear your views’ is so stupid.
“No, you paid to see me use a stage as a form of expression in the way I chose. I’m sorry you lack the critical thinking to realize that the rhetorical power of music doesn’t always serve your escapism.’
In another tweet, they expressed their appreciation for their fans, writing, “I’m honored to have my audience. They proudly cultivate a space where emotion and action meet. I love doing what I do. And expect me to always tell the truth when I’m up there. The show must go on.’
Halsey quoted a follower who wrote: “It’s been tough here. we had to rage and cry and scream and laugh. we had to do all this with you last night.’
“Dallas was an unprecedented level of passion,” they wrote, adding a red heart emoji.
