Mandy Moore is canceling remaining 2022 tour dates amid pregnancy to focus on health and family

Moore, who is currently expecting her second child with husband Taylor Goldsmith, explained that touring was “too challenging” during her pregnancy.

“Friends, it is with a heavy heart and with great respect that I must let you all know that I am canceling my remaining show dates in 2022,” Moore, 38, informed fans.

β€œIt has been an honor and an absolute dream to return to the stage and perform for you all over the past month. When we booked these shows I wasn’t pregnant and although I really thought I could travel as we did (long hours on the bus and no real rest) caught up, took its toll and made it feel too challenging, to carry on”, the This is us Stern continued.

“I know I need to put my family and my health (and my baby’s health) first, and the best place to be right now is at home. Thank you for all of your support along the way and thank you ahead of time for respecting my decision,” she concluded. “I can’t wait to get back out there to bring this music and show you the way soon! !”

The actress announced on Instagram earlier this month that she is pregnant and expecting her second baby with Goldsmith this fall. Moore and Goldsmith are already parents to 15-month-old son August “Gus” Harrison.

“So much of this record grew out of the future journey into the next chapter of my life and what it might be like: what parenthood would feel like, how it would change everything, and all the excitement and trepidation that comes with that,” she said in an explanation. “At the same time, it was about celebrating and acknowledging where we are and really trying to be fully present in everyday life β€” which is perhaps the most difficult part of being human.”

“For me, it’s about staying open, staying aware, staying sensitive and empathetic to the people around me,” Moore said of the new album. “There’s something about expressing myself through lyrics and melody that makes me feel whole, and I feel privileged to have that outlet.”

“And while this album is very specific to me and my experience – there are songs about my baby, my husband, my father, my friends – I hope everyone can see their own life in it. I hope that you can come on the journey with me and take the driver’s seat yourself.”
