NBA 2022 Free Agency: Day 1 recap

It was a very busy first day of NBA Free Agency on Thursday. By our count, since the official start of the negotiation period at 5:00 PM CT, a total of 38 free agents have agreed to new contracts, while seven other players have either signed or agreed to contract extensions.

However, all of those deals were overshadowed by the drama in Brooklyn, where Kevin Durant reportedly asked the Nets to trade him. With Durant’s situation unresolved, we could see some serious fireworks in the coming days.

In the meantime, below are all the free agent deals, contract renewals, trades and other notable news from the free agents day one.

Free Agent Agreements:

These deals aren’t official yet, so reported terms could change — or deals could fall through altogether. In general, however, teams and players are on track to finalize these agreements sometime after the moratorium ends on July 6th.

Note: Some of these salary figures may include options, incentives, or non-guaranteed money.

1. Bradley Beal, wizard agree to a five-year, $251.02 million (max salary) contract.
2. Jalen Brunson, curtsy agree to a four-year, $104 million deal.
3. Fernee Simons, Trailblazer agree to four-year, $100m deal.

5. Bobby Portis, dollar agree to a four-year, $48.58 million deal.
6. Marvin Bagley III, Pistons agree to a three-year, $37 million deal.
7. Chris Boucher, birds of prey agree to a three-year, $35.25 million contract.
8. PJ Tucker, sixes agree to a three-year, $33.04 million deal.
9. Tyus Jones, grizzlies agree to a two-year, $30 million deal.
10. Gary Payton II, Trailblazer Completed a three-year, $28 million deal.
11. Jae’Sean Tate, rockets agree to a three-year, $22.1 million deal.
12. Nicholas Batum, clippers agree to a two-year, $22 million deal.
13. Mohammed Bamba, magic agree to a two-year, $21 million deal.
14. Ja Vale McGee, outsider agree to a three-year, $20.1 million contract.
15. Nick Claxton, nets agree to a two-year, $20 million deal.
16. Malik Monk, kings agree to a two-year, $19m deal.
17. Kyle Anderson, wood wolves agree to a two-year, $18 million deal.
18. Isaiah Hartenstein, curtsy agree to a two-year, $16.7 million deal.
19. Delon Wright, wizard agree to a two-year, $16m deal.
20. Patty Mills, nets agree to a two-year, $14.49 million deal.
21. Victor Oladipo, heat agree to a one-year, $11 million deal.
22. Amir coffee, clippers agree to a three-year, $11 million deal.
23. Dewayne Dedmon, heat agree to a two-year, $9 million deal.
24. Daniel house, sixes agree to a two-year, $8.42 million deal.
25. Andre Drummond, cops agree to a two-year, $6.6 million deal.
26. Joe Ingles, dollar agree to a one-year contract for $6.48 million.
27. Lonnie Walker, lakers agree to a one-year contract for $6.48 million.
28. Kevin Knox, Pistons agree to a two-year, $6 million deal.
29. Jevon Carter, dollar agree to a two-year, $4.6 million deal.
30. Damien Jones, lakers agree to a two-year minimum wage agreement.
31. Trevelin Queen, sixes agree to a two-year minimum wage agreement.
32. Troy Brown, lakers agree to a one-year minimum wage agreement.
33. DeAndre Jordan, nuggets agree to a one-year minimum wage agreement.

Contract extensions:

1. Nikola Jokić, nuggets agree to a five-year extension for Super Max veterans.
2. Devin Booker, to sunbathe agree to a four year super max veteran extension.
3. Karl-Anthony-Cities, wood wolves agree to a four year super max veteran extension.
4. Yes Morant, grizzlies agree to a five-year extension of the maximum salary rookie scale.
5. gary harris, magic officially completed $26 million two-year veteran extension.
6. bull prince, wood wolves officially completed $16 million two-year veteran extension.
7. Squidward Young, birds of prey officially completed $16 million two-year veteran extension.

Businesses:

1. That jazz traded Royce O’Neale to the nets in exchange for either the Rockets, Nets, or Sixers picking for the 2023 first round (whichever is least favourable).
2. That hawks and spores officially completed their trade show Dejount Murray and Jock Landale to Atlanta for Danilo Gallinari and three first-round picks and one first-round pick swap. Gallinari is expected to be dispensed with.

Other news:

1. That Pistons and Kemba Walker enter into an acquisition agreement.
2. That jazz waived Juancho Hernangomez.
3. Former head coach of the Sixers Brett Brown rejoined Gregg Popovich‘s spores employee as an assistant.
