Michael B. Jordan and Lori Harvey broke up.
That A diary for Jordan Actor, 35, and Harvey, 25, have split after dating for a year and a half, a source close to the couple confirms to PEOPLE.
“Michael and Lori are both heartbroken,” the source says. “They still love each other.”
“Michael matured a lot over the course of their relationship and was ready to commit to a long-term commitment. He dropped his guard over her and opened up emotionally in a romantic relationship for the first time,” the source adds. “They had great times together and brought out the best in each other.”
A representative from Jordan could not be reached for comment. Harvey representatives did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Both attended the 2022 vanity fair Oscar party in Beverly Hills on March 27, which marked her red carpet debut. Model/influencer Harvey attended the Cannes Film Festival last month on May 17th and walked the red carpet for a screening of solo Final Cut (Coupez!). Rumors of trouble between the two have been swirling for the past few weeks following their return from France.
The couple had celebrated their one-year anniversary in November, months after Jordan made their relationship official on Instagram in January.
He said The Hollywood Reporter in December that he’s “finally figured out what love is” in his relationship with Harvey. That Black Panther The actor explained why he felt comfortable sharing his personal relationship publicly: “When I was younger, I don’t know if I could have handled the onslaught of opinions and the disassembly, and also being aware of what the other person will go through . It takes a special person to handle it.”
They felt “real enough” to openly share, he said at the time.
“There is a deliberate plan to avoid each other [of the public eye] that sometimes kills spontaneity and intimacy. I wanted to take that away and give him the best possible chance to be normal in this weird world we live in. Long story short, I think it’s just the timing of everything. It was the right time for me,” he added. “Yes. I’m happy.”

In April 2021, Jordan explained to PEOPLE why he decided to speak publicly about his love life for the first time.
“I’m still private, and I want to protect that, but it just felt like it was a moment where I just wanted to release it and move on,” he said at the time. “I’m very happy. I think as you get older you become more comfortable with it [public nature] of the business in which we operate. So for me it was a moment to take ownership of it and then get back to work.

Harvery, Steve Harvey’s daughter, previously dated Sean “Diddy” Combs, Combs’ son Justin, Trey Songz and Future. She spoke about her relationship with Jordan the real one back in September.
“We just really balance each other out,” she explained at the time. “I really believe that statement when they say, ‘If you know you know.’ And I think that really applies to our situation and we’re just having a really good time together.”

Lori added that he’s “so sweet, very thoughtful; he listens to me and the things I say that I want and he really tries.”
When asked about the sexiest or cutest thing Jordan has done for her, Lori said he’s “really good at all the big things.” She explained: “Valentine’s Day, birthdays, all that, but it’s the little things, the everyday things that I think are really special, like he would just listen to me when I talk. Even the other day, I just said I really just wanted to go to a farmers market so he called me one Sunday morning and said ‘what are you doing I’ll pick you up’ and he took me to this really cute farmers market for an hour and we had the best day. So stuff like that.”
