Britney Spears’ attorney is willing to play along to unseat her father, Jamie Spears, even if it means traveling to Louisiana.
Mathew Rosengart, the 40-year-old pop superstar’s attorney, said in court documents obtained by TMZ on Wednesday that he was willing to fly to Jamie’s hometown to drop him off.
Britney’s 69-year-old father, who previously ran her now-defunct conservatory, has kept a low profile in Kentwood, Louisiana, for the past few months, but distance doesn’t appear to be a barrier to his daughter’s legal team.
In pursuit: Britney Spears’ attorney Mathew Rosengart has told her father Jamie Spears, 69, that he is willing to meet him in Louisiana for testimony, TMZ reported on Wednesday; seen in 2018
Rosengart wrote in the court filings that Jamie has been avoiding testimony for five months, so he is willing to travel to complete it and put him on oath and on record.
The attorney added he believes he can prove Britney’s father was responsible for “a corrupt and inconsistent conservatory that deprived his daughter of certain fundamental liberties.”
He also claimed that her father had lined his pockets with $6.3 million while paying other people millions more from the conservators’ coffers.
Rosengart added that Jamie “continues to harass and bully Britney Spears, including by not cooperating with his discovery … and actually noticing his daughter’s testimony, even as he hides from answering substantive questions about the testimony.”

Although he told the court he was willing to fly to Jamie’s place to swear to him, Rosengart added in his filing that he would be willing to travel anywhere else in the US to question Jamie.
Back in January, Jamie’s attorney, Alex Weingarten, emailed Rosengart expressing his intention to fire Britney, according to TMZ.
At the time, Weingarten said Jamie would also be willing to sit down for testimony shortly before Britney, though there doesn’t seem to be any progress in getting any of the family members under oath.
