With all the finales currently being aired across network television, it’s easy to think ahead to summer while wondering about all that will fill primetime during the hottest months of the year. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait any longer to get a glimpse of how the fall television schedule will unfold as networks like ABC unveil their future plans. CBS is the latest network to update viewers on what’s set to rock September, including how it will replace the eviction of hit dramas bull and MagnumPIas well as how his biggest sitcom night gets more dramatic.
Before you come around Young Sheldon‘s primetime cohorts, however, first let’s break down the earlier half of the week, which admittedly won’t all look like that unlike regular CBS viewers.

Now that CBS has its pair NCIS Watching dramas on Monday nights I would expect the network to keep those timeslots locked as long as any of the dramas are still airing. I had a slight suspicion that the powerful might try to place all three NCIS Same night dramas similar to how things play out on Tuesday but that would have left a big gap on Sunday night. So the status quo remains the same for now.
Similarly for Tuesday nights where Dick Wolf is FBI Franchise reigns. Even with his big star change last season, in which Julian McMahon got out FBI: Most Wantedjust to be replaced by Law & Order: Organized Crime Darling Dylan McDermottthe drama still retained its audience and I’m sure many of them will be glad nothing has changed on those special nights.
Wednesday nights brings CBS’s first major update of the week, going completely unscripted for the evening, with the medical drama Good Sam previously canceled among many others. survivor and The amazing race now transitions into the brand new series The real love boata dating series that obviously owes its roots to The love boat correct. We hope the show does more than make people seasick.

The rest of the CBS week is relatively news-packed, starting with Thursday night, which has served as the biggest sitcom night since The big Bang Theory debuted. Things still start out that way, although neither is the case Young Sheldon nor the time-adjusted one ghosts are filmed in front of live audiences, but then the night tilts into more dramatic waters So help me Todd, starring Marcia Gay Harden and Skylar Astin as a lawyer mother and former PI son, who solve cases together while trying to understand each other. After that will be the return of CSI: Vegas for its second season, which rotates Wednesday nights through Thursdays to fill the slot vacated by Michael Weatherly bull.
More upheaval on Friday nights now starting with Shemar Moore’s gossip, who is retiring from her temporary Sunday night slot. Rather than MagnumPI is next for fans to look forward to Marine Special Forces Star Max Thieriot directs the new inmate and fireman drama fire land. The ever-reliable Reagan family wraps up the night Blue blood.
With Saturday nights sticking with encore presentations and 48 hourslet’s switch to the Sunday evenings, which begin in the same way with 60 minutes and a new season of Queen Latifah The equalizer. Then CBS will unveil another new drama East New Yorkin which Amanda Warren will be the new boss of the 74th Precinct with a team that includes Jimmy Smiths, Richard Kind and Ruben Santiago-Hudson.
As for the midseason replacement, CBS confirmed that it’s a 35mm remake of James Cameron True Lies will be in the new year, as well as the return of unscripted series Tough and Secret Celebrity Renovation. Not to mention the debuts of other unscripted shows like great fan and slang.
Viewers still have a few months to wait for these shows to arrive, and we’re still not exactly sure when all the fun will debut specifically CBSbut we are here for everything.
