Doja Cat explains why she shaved her head in video: ‘I feel like I should never have had hair’

Doja Cat explained why she shaved her head during an Instagram Live on Thursday, in which she admitted she “never liked” having hair.

While reflecting on her edgy new buzzcut for her 24.1million followers, the 26-year-old Grammy winner said she’s been “obsessed” with her new look ever since she chopped off her locks.

“I feel like I should never have hair anyway,” she told her fans. “I don’t like having hair.”

She continued, “I never liked having hair. I can’t tell you I’ve ever said, ‘That’s cool, since the beginning of my life. I just don’t like having hair.’

The “Kiss Me More” hitmaker also recalled feeling “so freaking exhausted” from working out and wearing wigs that she said would start to “slip and fall off your head” when she did “incredibly strenuous” exercises.

“I would train but I couldn’t concentrate because I was more concerned with how I looked. Or how my hair was and how I was able to hold it to my scalp,’ Doja remarked.

The rapper added that she would sometimes put a cap “on” a wig “that’s on top of a wig cap that’s on top of pigtails.”

She continued, “I just can’t believe it took me so long to say, ‘Shave your frigging head.’

The musician concluded by saying that she “really likes” her shaved head.

This comes after her Instagram follow count took quite a hit after meeting Noah Schnapp for sharing her private DMs.

Last month, the singer slammed the 17-year-old Stranger Things star for posting messages asking him to set her up with his co-star Joseph Quinn, 29, telling her followers the move was “snake shit “.

She soon came under fire from fans who stressed that Noah is a minor, and now she’s lost over 200,000 followers while the child star has gained nearly a million.

As reported by UNILAD, social media analytics firm Social Blade has measured a jump in Noah’s follower count from 24.25 million on Wednesday to 25.17 million on Monday.

Meanwhile, Doja – real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini – saw hers plummet from 24.34m to 24.14m in the same period.

Back then, Noah took to TikTok to post a now-deleted video showing private direct messages between himself and the Say So singer, in which she expressed a romantic interest in Stranger Things actor Joseph – who plays Eddie Munson.

Doja then hit back at the Will Byers actor and took to Instagram Live to slam him for his double act, but added that she didn’t want her fans to overreact as he was “just a kid”.

She started by trying to do a “three-minute TikTok, but it didn’t work,” so she settled on Instagram Live video, adding she hopes someone will record the video.

Doja said it was “socially unconscious” for Noah to share their private conversations online, but added that young people “do stupid shit” and “screw up relationships with people” in her ranting video.

“I’m just going to say something about the whole damn Noah Snap thing,” she began.

“I think that… to be fair, let’s try to keep our composure,” Doja began. “Like Noah is a kid but I don’t even know how old he is but he can’t be over — like he’s definitely not older than 21,” she added of the actor, who is only 17.

“But when you’re so young, you make mistakes. you are stupid I’m trying to be super fair,” continued Doja, who wore a Beginning Boutique plunging gown in her video.

“You do stupid shit, you say stupid shit, you bastard, fuck relationships with people. You make mistakes,’ she added.

Doja went on to admit that she, too, had her “share of f**k-ups” and learned from her mistakes, before fuming that it was “like a weasel s**t” for him, hers share chat online.

“Like you have to do that so you know you shouldn’t do that in the future. I did my share of f**k-ups so I wouldn’t f**k-ups again,” Doja continued, though her tone changed significantly.

“But the fact that Noah did that when he posted a private conversation between me and him is so incredibly socially unaware and insane. This is like border snake s**t, this is like weasel s**t,” she added.

“And I’m not saying that includes his entire personality – which is not how I imagine Noah to be. Maybe he’s like a whole snake. But that’s not how I saw him,’ she said.

“I assumed he would be cool about it and he went and shared information that I didn’t feel comfortable about him sharing,” she concluded.

The DM the New Yorker shared showed Doja asking: “Noah, can you say Joseph to hmu. wait no Does he have a girlfriend?’

He replied, “LMAOO slide into his DMS,” but she said, “Idk his IG or Twitter, he doesn’t have a DM to slide into,” before providing her with Quinn’s handle.

Neither Noah nor Joseph have yet publicly responded to Doja Cat’s video.

The Kiss Me More singer previously praised Noa’s performance after a Twitter user posted a shot of the actor reading, “Doja look how good Joseph Quinn is.”

The Grammy winner replied, “It’s bloody criminal.” In May, she also tweeted, “Joseph Quinn is fine as s**t.”
