“I cried for hours. It’s not worth it.”
If you follow Doja Cat on Instagram — or if you caught up with this year’s Billboard Music Awards — you might have noticed that she vapes quite a bit.
The singer frequently puffs on her vape during her IG Live sessions — and when she won Best R&B Album at the BBMAs, Doja could be seen puffing on her vape (and taking a quick sip of her drink) right before her acceptance speech took).
Yesterday she revealed on her IG Story that all of her upcoming tour dates have been canceled due to a “routine” tonsillectomy.
The day before she announced the tour’s cancellation, Doja alluded to some “bad news” in a series of tweets, in which she revealed she had an abscess in her left tonsil – likely due to her vaping habit.
She went on to explain that her tonsils got infected and took antibiotics before the BBMAs — but she “forgot” that she was on medication and “drank wine and vaped all day.”
“I started getting a nasty growth on the butt of my tonsils so they had to operate on them today,” Doja called.
In answer to a Twitter user who asked her if she still vaped, Doja said she was “quitting for a while” to kick the habit for good.
“I’m too scared to hit it because my throat hurts so much,” she said continued. “I cried for hours. It’s not worth it.”
After another Twitter user told her to “throw the vape away,” she said answered that this would only “panic” them. “I’m addicted, but I’m not weak,” she said. “I literally stared at my vape today, which I would normally have puffed a thousand times a day, and instead took two.”
“And what makes you all think I can’t buy a 50 pack now?” Doja continues explained while saying that her “brain is addicted” to vaping.
Then yes called that anyone telling her to “THROW IT THEN QUEEN” sounded “condescending” to “anyone who actually has problems [with] nicotine addiction.”
“I’ve tried to throw all that shit away before. It does not work.”
they also thanked fans for “all the reassurance” and said it “would make me cry”. “I appreciate it,” she said. “Thank you for your support. I love you.”
Nothing but love for Doja Cat as she works on her recovery!
