Depp said he didn’t see what his attorney Adam Waldman said about Heard until he saw his ex-wife’s counterclaim.

Depp is suing Heard for $50 million in defamation in Fairfax County Circuit Court over a December 2018 comment she wrote in the Washington Post describing herself as “a public figure who advocates domestic violence.” His lawyers say he was defamed by the article, although he never mentioned his name. Heard is suing Depp for $100 million over statements Waldman made to the media about her.

Depp also responded to defense witnesses who testified about an injury to his finger, a point of contention in he and Heard’s accounts of their relationship. He reiterated his earlier statement that it was injured when Heard allegedly threw a vodka bottle at him.

And Depp earlier Wednesday responded to statements from supermodel Kate Moss, who he dated in the 1990s. He and Moss both said she slipped on a rain-soaked staircase in Jamaica. Heard had testified that during an argument she pondered rumors about the incident with Moss, in which she admitted hitting Depp on a flight of stairs.

The civil trial between Depp and Heard continued on Wednesday in the sixth and expected final week of the trial.

Earlier Wednesday, his team had called Moss, who testified that Depp had not pushed her down the stairs in an incident that Depp’s ex-wife, Amber Heard, mentioned in a statement.

“He never pushed me, kicked me, threw me down a flight of stairs,” said Moss, who appeared via video link.

Heard had referenced Moss when describing a fight in which she admitted hitting Depp on a flight of stairs because she said Depp attacked Heard’s sister, Whitney. Moss said she once slipped down a flight of stairs at a Jamaican resort after a rainstorm, and Depp came to her rescue.

The supermodel testified for less than 5 minutes and was not interrogated.

Heard previously testified that during a fight in 2015, she recalled an alleged incident in which Depp pushed Moss down a flight of stairs. That opened the door for Depp’s attorneys to put Moss on the witness stand.

dope has denied He has ever hit Heard and says she is the culprit in the relationship. Heard testifies about it more than a dozen separate instances of physical abuse that she says were sustained at Depp’s hands.

On Wednesday, Depp described Heard’s reports of sexual violence in their relationship as “insane.”

“Never in my life have I committed sexual abuse or physical abuse — all these outrageous, outlandish stories of me committing those acts,” he said.

“I came here, I spoke the truth, and I spoke up for what I’ve been carrying on my back – reluctantly – for the past six years,” Depp said.

Heard’s attorneys rested their defense on Tuesday. Judge Penney Azcarate denied a motion by Depp’s attorneys to dismiss a $100 million counterclaim she had filed against Depp. The countersuit alleges that Depp’s then-attorney, Adam Waldman, defamed Heard when he called her allegations of abuse a hoax.

Also on Tuesday, DC Films President Walter Hamara testified that Amber Heard lacked chemistry with “Aquaman” star Jason Momoa and that the studio was considering replacing her for the blockbuster sequel. Depp’s attorneys also called the actor’s personal physician, Dr. David A. Kulber, on the witness stand who questioned whether the expert Dr. David Spiegel Depp accurately without ever having spoken to him.

While it had been reported that Heard’s attorneys would summon Depp to testify Monday, they did not. Depp’s attorneys plan to recall the star to the witness stand ahead of Friday’s closing arguments.

Both Depp and Heard have previously opened up about the details of their toxic relationship.
