Kanye West has announced that it will redesign food packaging for McDonald’s.

The 44-year-old rapper returned to Instagram Monday with a photo of the crisp and clean new design after being banned from the platform for 24 hours in March.

“Ye teams up with legendary Muji industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa to reinvent McDonald’s packaging,” he captioned the photo.

“Next week it’s the fries,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories, referencing his 2005 track “Gold Digger,” in which he rapped, “This week he’s mopping floors, next week it’s the fries.”

McDonald’s has not yet commented on the collaboration on its Twitter or Instagram accounts.

From its transparent packaging to its boxy shape, the design definitely has the Kanye touch. Similar to his Yeezy clothing line and notorious interior style, the packaging was minimal and understated.

It’s also a far cry from the traditional design, where groceries are wrapped in colorful packaging with the McDonald’s logo.

The decision to partner with McDonald’s might seem a little left field, but the rapper previously expressed his fondness for the fast-food chain in the poem McDonald’s Man.

Kanye and his then-wife Kim Kardashian were also featured in a McDonald’s Instagram post that detailed their favorite dishes of 2020.

Kanye happily ordered a milkshake, fries, chicken mcnuggets, and hot BBQ sauce, while Kim opted for chicken mcnuggets, a shake, fries, hamburger, and apple pie.

The announcement also marked the first time Kanye had posted on Instagram after being temporarily suspended for attacking Kim and her boyfriend Pete Davidson on the platform.

A spokesman for Meta, the company that owns the social media platform, told TMZ that the rapper’s posts violated his policies on hate speech, harassment and bullying.

West, who has now legally changed his name to Ye, revealed that he was “really concerned” that Davidson would turn Kardashian “addicted to drugs” and urged the comedian to “apologize to your family for being in your family is”.

The rapper also took aim at talk show host Trevor Noah, who denounced Kanye’s feud on an episode of The Daily Show, warning that the online fight between the former couple could turn violent and was “terrifying to watch.”

In response, West posted pictures of Noah to his account with a caption that read, in part, “Everyone now… K**n baya my lord k**n baya.” The racist post was apparently removed.

West’s 24-hour suspension meant it was him unable to post content, comment on posts, or send direct messages.
