Logan Paul reveals Dwayne Johnson recently messaged him after years of being out of touch following the 'Suicide Woods' incident

YouTuber Logan Paul recently opened up about how Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson cut ties with him after his scandalous incident in Aokigahara in 2017.

During his appearance on theTrue Geordie PodcastPaul, 27, revealed that his publicist, who also represented Johnson, 50, called him after the Aokigahara incident and said the former WWE wrestler wanted Paul to remove all of his videos and pictures of them from his social media away .

“That was one of the saddest moments of my life, which I’m about to say,” Paul said. “Obviously, having passed Japan, I found myself in a hole – rightly so – that I had never been in before. Extremely low, mentally, and I got a call from my publicist, who was also representing Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.”

She says, ‘Hey, Dwayne asked you to remove all the videos and pictures you took with him. Maybe the relationship can be reconciled in the future, but right now he basically doesn’t want anything to do with you,’” Paul continued. “What I also understood. I get it. I made a grotesque mistake.”

Before becoming involved in the controversy, the two had performed several viral videos together, including one in which Paul Johnson visits on the set of the 2017 film Baywatch.

Their relationship reportedly flipped sideways in 2018 after Paul went to Japan’s Aokigahara Forest, also known as “Suicide Forest,” on the slopes of Mount Fuji in December 2017.

While filming a vlog, Paul and his crew saw the body of a suicide victim. Instead of immediately calling the authorities, the vlogger and his team pointed their cameras at the body and posted the video on YouTube.

The video titled “We found a dead body in the Japanese Suicide Forest…” was eventually removed and Paul released an apology video amid the backlash. More than four years after the incident, Paul admitted to Ariel Helwani by The MMA Hour that his apology video was “half-assed”.

Regarding his relationship with Johnson after the controversy, Paul said: “I feel like we had a healthy relationship, an open line of communication. I was so sad that my hero didn’t want anything to do with me.”

I was sad because I understood. I really screwed up,” he added.

In a 2018 interview with To expressJohnson spoke about his battle with depression and how, at the age of 15, he saved his mother from attempting suicide after they were evicted from her apartment.

She got out of the car on Interstate 65 in Nashville and ran into oncoming traffic. I grabbed her and pulled her back onto the gravel strip of the road,” Johnson said. “The crazy thing about that suicide attempt is that to this day she has absolutely no memory of it. Probably for the best if she doesn’t.”

When asked if Paul Johnson ever contacted him after the incident, the YouTuber admitted the Hollywood actor sent him an Instagram direct message “about three months ago” as if “nothing ever happened.”
