Nicole Kidman was roasted online as she made her catwalk debut at Balenciaga’s haute couture show during Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday.
The 55-year-old Oscar winner turned heads in a one-shoulder silver gown with detailing across the waist and a pair of opera gloves as she strutted down the runway alongside reality star Kim Kardashian and supermodel Naomi Campbell.
However, it was the Stepford Wives star’s stilted, robotic walking style that really got fans talking.

“I could have sworn I’ve seen Nicole Kidman walk like a human before, but you wouldn’t know from that Balenciaga runway she just did,” one critic tweeted.

Several users pointed out the marked difference between veteran model Naomi Campbell’s runway technique and Kidman, who had never walked a catwalk before.
“This is Nicole Kidman. She is a phenomenal actress and very tall. She walks like a statue that has just come to life [laughing/crying emoji]. The only ‘model’ in it is Naomi Campbell,” said one user.
Others poked fun at Kidman’s outfit, comparing the metallic dress to an emergency blanket or a sheet of crumpled aluminum foil.

The hour star’s eyebrow-raising catwalk appearance comes five years after she was ridiculed for her now-infamous “seal clap” at the 2017 Oscars.
Footage from the ceremony went viral after fans noticed her unusual style of gossip.
However, other users rushed to her defense, tweeting, “Everybody talks about Nicole and Kim’s walks like hello they’re not models like Naomi.”
Kidman’s fingers were oddly stretched out as she applauded the winners, with only the palms of her hands appearing to be in contact.
Weeks later in conversation with the Kyle and Jackie O Show, the Moulin Rouge! Star laughed at the incident and explained why she didn’t want their fingers to touch.
Kidman said she didn’t want to damage the 119-carats of diamonds on her hands, including a 13.58-carat pearl-shaped diamond ring set in platinum.
“It was really embarrassing and I was like, ‘Gosh, I really want to gossip,'” she said.
“I do not want Not gossip, what would be worse, right? “Why isn’t Nicole clapping?”
