The fire was reported around 6:35 p.m. local time Thursday night and quickly spread throughout the two-story Hollywood building.

Fire investigators were at the scene when the British actress and singer returned to the scene where an unnamed person died on Friday morning.

The synth-pop artist hugged record producer Jamal Rajad Davis, who is credited with raising the alarm about the fire.

“I was my own smoke detector,” Jamal told the Los Angeles Times. “I ran to my room and grabbed my stuff and left my door open to call my cats to follow me.”

Jamal said he tried to go back inside to save his four cats, but none of the animals made it. The structure housed several recording and rehearsal studios.

A hip-hop artist named Maximilian told KABC-TV that he lost everything.

“When I opened the door, I saw smoke coming from the other side of the hallway. I immediately reached out to grab a pitcher of water,” he explained. “I threw it at the door, flames burst (sic). I tried to go back to my room and grab everything I could but there were flames everywhere and we ran out of the building and that was it.”

The artist estimates his loss at around $50,000.

It was Sharon Osbourne who first revealed her eldest daughter’s narrow escape and the resulting injury in an emotional social media post on Friday morning.

The Osbournes star wrote on social media that both were lucky to be alive.

“It is absolutely heartbreaking that someone lost their life in this fire today and we send our prayers to that person and their family. What happened today was beyond appalling,” Sharon said.

Describing the building as “Hollywood’s creative hub for music,” Sharon also lamented the loss of equipment belonging to the various artists who worked there.

She also called for better fire safety in such buildings, although it is not yet known if any regulations have been breached.

Aimee, who is known professionally by her initials ARO, has yet to speak publicly about the life-threatening fear.

The actress is the lesser-known member of the Osbourne family as she declined to be a part of the reality show The Osbournes, which made her siblings Kelly, 37, and Jack, 36, household names during its run from 2002 to 2005.
