We’re just hours away from the next big WWE show. Hell in a Cell 2022 is taking place live from the All-State Arena in Chicago this Sunday.
WWE came under a lot of scrutiny for the show’s match card. So far, seven matches have been announced and only one of them is from SmackDown. In addition, several big stars and champions will miss the event, which will seriously damage its credibility. To make up for all of this, the company could take some bold steps.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for WWE Hell in a Cell 2022. Be sure to comment and let us know your thoughts and reactions on them. How excited are you for the show?
#3 Bayley returns and announces her entry into the women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match
One of the biggest names on the WWE roster to be sidelined right now is Bayley. The former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion is recovering from an injury sustained while training at the WWE Performance Center last year.
Fans have been hoping for her return since the Royal Rumble earlier this year, but that hasn’t happened yet. We could see The Role Model finally make her long-awaited comeback at Hell in a Cell this weekend. WWE could use them to spice up the upcoming Money in the Bank event, which will no longer be a stadium show. She could spark interest by announcing herself to be the first entrant in this year’s women’s Money in the Bank ladder game.
#2 Finn Balor turns on AJ Styles and Liv Morgan and joins The Judgment Day
One of the most exciting matches at Hell in a Cell that fans look forward to is the six-person mixed tag team match. The Judgment Day (Edge, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley) take on the babyface team of AJ Styles, Finn Balor and Liv Morgan. While many expected this to be a Hell in a Cell match, at the time of writing this was not the case.
Now Edge has made it clear that he is looking for more recruits for his faction. New members have joined during the last two Premium Live Events. It was first Damian Priest at WrestleMania 38 and then Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania Backlash. This trend could also continue in WWE Hell in a Cell 2022.
Fans love the alliance between Styles and Balor due to their past as part of The Bullet Club. However, this is where WWE could dodge everyone with Balor turning on his partners and joining Edge. A Heel Balor teaming up with The Rated-R Superstar could be an interesting storyline and help him get back on the main event scene.
#1 “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt returns at WWE Hell in a Cell 2022, knocking out Vince McMahon
Former Universal Champion Bray Wyatt has been in the news for his recent tweets teasing that he is ready to return to the ring. While there’s still no confirmation as to what the future holds for him, there’s no denying the possibility of a WWE return. If Cody Rhodes can come back, anyone can.
While his return would be a massive moment on its own, it also needs to be justified with an interesting storyline. What if The Fiend is back to exact revenge on Company Chairman Vince McMahon? There was a brief streak on RAW in 2020 where The Fiend and Vince McMahon faced each other in the ring. Although it came to nothing, fans were genuinely intrigued by the possibility of these two characters interacting.
If WWE is going to go all out and have fans jumping out of their seats with excitement, maybe we’ll see The Fiend return to Hell in a Cell this weekend and take down Vince McMahon. That would be a much better idea than reuniting him with Alexa Bliss or interfering with the Hell in a Cell match between Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes.
