Shawn Mendes is focusing on his personal relationships and mental health just weeks after canceling the remainder of his Wonder World Tour.

The 24-year-old Canadian crooner was spotted arriving at LAX on Tuesday as he gave an update on his progress amid his heartbreaking announcement.

Shawn told TMZ, “I take my time, just like in therapy. Yeah, just take it easy, man. I think I can spend time with family that I wasn’t able to.

As he has been busy being one of the most in-demand pop stars in the world, he has struggled to be with his loved ones, something he has not been able to do in recent years.

Shawn said, “Yeah, I think for me it’s just like spending time doing things that I haven’t done in years and just having dinner with friends and stuff.”

Over the weekend, he was spotted enjoying time on the beach while celebrating his birthday in Miami.

He was also asked what can be done for his fans who have lost money on concert tickets, hotel and travel.

Shawn seemed confident it would work nonetheless, stating, “We can figure that out, I mean anything’s kind of workable.”

Last month, the singer rescheduled some of the gigs in early July to focus on his mental health, but on July 27 he confirmed on social media that the tour has been canceled entirely as he prioritizes his well-being.

“As you know I’ve had to reschedule the shows for the past few weeks as I wasn’t fully prepared for what it would take to be on tour again,” he said in a heartfelt message to his fans.

“I started this tour excited to finally be able to play live again after a long hiatus due to the pandemic, but the reality is I was not at all ready for how difficult touring was going to be after this time.

“After speaking more with my team and working with an incredible group of healthcare professionals, I have come to realize more that I need to take the time that I personally never took to ground myself and come back stronger.”

The Stitches hitmaker continued, “Unfortunately I have to cancel the remaining North American and UK/Europe tour dates.

“We had hopes that after some much-needed time off I might be able to continue with the remaining appointments, but at this point I have to put my health first.”

Shawn assured his fans that he would still make music and shared that it broke his heart to let down those who had tickets to the gigs.

He said: “That doesn’t mean I won’t be making new music and I can’t wait to see you on tour in the future. I know you’ve all been waiting so long to see these shows and it breaks my heart to tell you this, but I promise I’ll be back as soon as I’ve given myself the right amount of time to heal. I love you all and thank you all so much for supporting me and sticking with me on this journey.”
