Seven-time Grammy nominee Toby Keith publicly thanked his fans Tuesday, just two days after announcing his six-month battle with stomach cancer.
The 60-year-old country singer, who has 10.1million social media followers, wrote: “Thank you for all your love and support. I have the best fans in the world.”
Last fall, Toby was diagnosed with the painful stomach condition, which most commonly affects men ages 60 to 80 and infects an average of 28,000 Americans annually, according to Rare Diseases.

“I’ve spent the last six months undergoing chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. So far so good,” Keith (last name Covel) announced on Sunday.
“I need time to breathe, rest and relax. I look forward to spending this time with my family. But I’ll see the fans sooner than later. I can barely wait for it.”
The Oklahoma Breakdown star received supportive comments from retired NFL star Troy Aikman, CMT host Cody Alan, retired soccer star Chris Frederick, and singers Scott Stevens, Lance Carpenter, Savannah Rae and Matt Rogers.
Toby also has plenty of support from his three children – daughter Shelley, 42; daughter Crystal, 36; and son Stelen, 25 — as well as his 38-year-old wife Patricia ‘Tricia’ Lucus.

“Thank you all for your kind words and prayers regarding my father’s announcement yesterday,” Stelen wrote Monday.
“He’s a fighter, has taken every measure to mitigate it and needs rest to come back to himself. Please keep the prayers flowing but know this will all be seen in the rear view a short distance down the road. God is great.’
In 2006, Keith founded the Toby Keith Foundation, which in 2014 opened a free residential facility called OK Kids Korral for pediatric cancer patients.
