Reportedly, #5 John Cena’s WrestleMania 39 opponent was revealed

16-time world champion John Cena appears to be on a collision course with current United States Champion Theory. Many had expected this match to take place at this year’s SummerSlam. However, no such announcement has yet been made.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletterthe match between the two stars could likely be rescheduled to next year’s WrestleMania 39.

However, Cena is not announced for future TV dates and given the number of tickets he has rescheduled in Laredo, if he were announced for a show he would now be rescheduling more tickets than anyone but Dwayne Johnson. So it makes no sense not to do this to promote him. But they wouldn’t do a match like this without more angles. So the match, which is clearly a direction, may be delayed for WrestleMania as well,” Meltzer said

John Cena returned to WWE television on Monday Night RAW last week to celebrate his 20th anniversary with the company. He made it clear he still had more than one match in him, but also said he didn’t know when he’d wrestle again.

#4 Update on Bayley’s WWE Return

Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley has been sidelined since suffering an injury in July last year. Fans have been eagerly awaiting her return for quite some time.

Former Universal Champion Kevin Owens was scheduled to face either Ezekiel, Elias or Zeke’s younger brother Elrod at RAW last week for the final place in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. However, Owens missed the show and the match did not take place.

According to PWInsider, KO missed the show as he is currently struggling with a minor injury. However, the injury is reportedly not serious and he is expected to return soon.

“Those we spoke to believe Kevin Owens is struggling with a minor injury which is why he didn’t wrestle on last night’s Raw,” reported PWInsider.

The final spot in the MITB ladder match was decided by a fatal four-way match on Friday Night SmackDown. Madcap Moss won it and will now compete in his first-ever Money in the Bank match
