Warner Bros. has been trying to bring everything for almost a decade The Lightning to the big screen, finally giving DC’s Scarlet Speedster its first-ever solo film. Unfortunately, after countless delays and personnel changes, the film now seems to be in more trouble than ever thanks to lead actor Ezra Miller’s off-screen troubles.

Most recently, the film’s leading actor mysteriously deleted his Instagram page after sharing a spate of memes in response to grooming allegations, and the situation seems to be getting more troublesome by the day.

A source told the outlet that Warner Bros. Discovery’s new CEO, David Zaslav, is simply hoping the Miller scandal stays under the radar until then The Lightning Premiering in theaters June 2023. In his attempts to make the company’s DC division as successful as competitors like Marvel Studios, Miller must under no circumstances be a part of future plans. According to the inside source:
“There is no profit for Warner Bros. This is an inherited problem for Zaslav. We hope the scandal stays low before the film’s release and hope the best comes out.”
It’s unclear if this means the company will replace Miller, shelve all Flash-related projects, or completely reboot the entire DCEU.

To put it simply, the Ezra Miller controversy could reach a tipping point in the not too distant future.

This led to rumors that Warner Bros. was considering their options regarding Miller as Barry Allen, although the company adamantly denied there was any substance to those reports that same week.

Regardless of whether that happens, there’s no denying that both the studio and Miller are in for serious trouble, especially with such a significant film on the table.
See as The Lightning is still so long away from its theatrical debut that the studio needs to have some serious talks about how to proceed with this particular film and the Flash character as a whole.
Although The Lightning is Miller’s first solo film after supporting roles in three other films (not counting Zack Snyder’s Justice League), the actor’s off-camera actions may not leave the company any choice to pursue other avenues.
