Will Smith said he foresaw his final life change that his career would be “devastated” sooner than Chris Rock smacked at the 2022 Oscars.
During a candid conversation with David Letterman on the former late-night host’s Netflix show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, which was taped months before the viral slap, Smith recalled a premonition of the kind he had, What he claims stems from the effects of ayahuasca – a psychoactive herbal drink reportedly possessing some hallucinogenic properties.
“Once you drink it, you’re going to see yourself in a way you’ve never seen yourself,” Smith explained to Letterman, adding, “One of the experiences was the most personally hellish psychological experience of my life.”
Smith said he had a vision of having his palatial home, wealth and unprecedented career snatched from him over a two-year period, during which he explained he had taken the psychedelic drug nearly 15 times.

“I’ve been drinking, and it usually takes about 45 minutes to kick in. And I’m sitting there and you’re always like, ‘Maybe it won’t happen this time.’ So I’m drinking and sitting there and all of a sudden it’s like I see all my money fly away and my house fly away and my career go down,” the King Richard star recalled of the out of the body moment .
The ‘Bad Boys’ actor went on to explain that while inducing the hallucinogen he immediately started reaching for his money which he felt disappearing into thin air and he recalled holding himself thought, “My whole life is about to be destroyed.”

“That’s my fear in real life, and I’m in there, and I want to throw up and all that, and I hear a voice say, ‘That’s what the fuck it is. That’s what the f— life is’,” Smith, 53, lamented to Letterman.
Ultimately, Smith said he came to when he heard his daughter Willow Smith calling for help, and he realized that at the end of the day, nothing can take away his true blessing – his family.
“Then I slowly stopped caring about my money. I just wanted to see Willow. I stopped taking care of my house. I stopped caring about my career,” he added.
“When I came out of it, I realized that I could handle anything that happens in my life,” the actor continued. “I can deal with any person I lose. I can handle anything that goes wrong in my life. I can handle anything in my marriage. I can handle whatever this life has to offer me.”

Smith was banned from attending Oscars for the next ten years after being slapped on stage. The punishment came after the actor resigned from the academy.
Prior to the resignation and punishment, Smith issued a public apology to Rock via Instagram.
“Violence in all its forms is toxic and destructive,” Smith wrote in part on Instagram. “I was out of line and I was wrong.
“I’m embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. In a world of love and kindness there is no place for violence.

“My behavior at the Oscars last night was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s health was too much for me and I reacted emotionally.”
