Kevin Hart says Will Smith is in a “better environment” than he was after the Oscars.

The DC League of Super-Pets actor explained his pal was still “apologetic” after smacking Chris Rock on stage over a joke the comic made about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, but was ready “going forward” and not dwelling on the past.

“Will apologizes, you know, obviously he’s in a better situation than what he was looking for,” Kevin told Entertainment Tonight.

After the incident, Smith allegedly went to India for spiritual healing and has not been seen much since.

It’s not known if he’s in touch with Rock, who was in the news this week for his new “romance” with actress Lake Bell.

“People are people and as people we sometimes make mistakes. So it’s not about talking about the past, it’s about acknowledging the present and doing your best to move forward.”

Kevin is also friends with Chris and hopes the pair can put their differences behind them.

As a result of his actions, the Men in Black actor resigned from the academy after an apology.

He said: “My actions at the 94th Academy Awards were shocking, painful and inexcusable. The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and family, everyone present and the global audience at home. I have betrayed the academy’s trust.”

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences also announced that the ‘King Richard’ actor would be banned from attending its events for ten years, both virtually and in person.
