Welcome to another installment of the daily WWE Rumor Roundup, where we highlight the biggest rumors and stories from the world of sports entertainment. In today’s issue we take a look at some interesting rumors surrounding big names like Edge, Omos and Bobby Roode.

As previously reported, Edge was attacked by his own faction on RAW. This has led to an internal shift within the company, with The Rated R Superstar now listed as a babyface, while Finn Balor is on his heels. It now appears that Edge’s dismissal from the group stemmed from a behind-the-scenes disagreement.

We’ve got this story and more to dive into, so without further ado, let’s get to the roundup.

#3. Edge wasn’t on board with the creative direction of Judgment Day

According to Fightful Select, WWE had plans to add a more supernatural element to The Judgment Day. However, Edge was against the idea and didn’t agree with the supernatural angle. His disagreement with the new alignment reportedly resulted in his being kicked out of the group he formed.

Finn Balor has become the new leader of the faction. Given the planned direction of WWE for the group, Balor would fit in perfectly, having played the demon king’s supernatural character in the past.

Additionally, rumors are circulating that Edge’s babyface turn is due to Cody Rhodes being out through injury. However, this does not appear to be the case.

#2. Big feud planned between Omos and The Dirty Dawgz

Former World Champion Dolph Ziggler and his partner Bobby Roode will likely continue their program with Omos on RAW. While Ziggler and Roode are heels, it’s odd that they were chosen as Omos’ next target.

On the last episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that the reason behind the show is to help Omos:

“I think it’s just a way to get Omos in the ring with these two guys who are very good wrestlers and give him more experience working with good guys.”

Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode haven’t been used much for RAW lately. Although Ziggler became the NXT Champion this year, it was the culmination of his current run. Hopefully The Dirty Dawgz will help with more screen time in the future.

#1. Details on who WWE might release next

Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez explained on The Bryan & Vinny & Granny & Craig Show that the company is already planning the next releases. He said he was told the company will cut NXT 2.0 Superstars every six months if they don’t improve according to WWE:

“But every six months they rate you and if you don’t get better then you’re done and apparently they’ve done some evaluations including some names you would know. So we might make some changes to NXT 2.0…no cancellation, some people might get canceled,” Alvarez revealed. (H/T: WrestlingNews.co)

Alvarez complained that it was unfair to fire talent by only giving them six months to show their skills. In recent releases, the company unleashed NXT talent including Dakota Kai and Dexter Lumis. We’ll have to wait and see which NXT talent will be released next.
