WWE's Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have not split despite rumors online

In the last few weeks, a number of rumors about Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s wedding have been swirling around the internet. Some people on social media have pointed out that Stephanie has been spotted without her wedding ring at times, and many have speculated that she stepped down from her role as chief brand officer last month because she and Hunter were divorcing.

Wade Keller addressed the rumors on a recent PWTorch audio show and was told by a well-connected source that the rumors aren’t true at all. Keller also said her decision to step down last month had nothing to do with the investigation into her father Vince McMahon’s alleged $3 million settlement to cover up an affair with an ex-employee.

Keller said: “There are rumors as to why Stephanie resigned and I’ve been told by someone who’s pretty plugged in that it has nothing to do with knowing about this story that’s being worked on. Well that’s a source. It’s reliable [and] connected, but I leave open the possibility that the stories are connected. But at this point I’m inclined to believe my source that Stephanie didn’t walk away because she knew this would show up and be waiting to swoop in and take over. But that doesn’t preclude this from being a major inflection point in WWE’s power structure, especially if the NDA the Wall Street Journal got and if that gets the board of directors discovers there was something wrong with Vince McMahon, they find it morally reprehensible and uncomfortable to continue working with him and leaving him in power.”

Commenting on the marriage rumors between Hunter and Stephanie, Keller said, “I know when Hunter had his health issues and then Stephanie stepped aside, there were, I won’t say rumours, because that’s exaggerated. [There was] Guess there might be marital issues they were dealing with. I’ve been told that’s just not the case and that they are a team.

He added: “Triple H works full time, he’s a talent scout, but Stephanie resigned and they reduced their hours. Hunter reduced his hours. As I mentioned earlier, Hunter, when he wasn’t previously a caffeine guy, used to drink iced coffee constantly just to keep up with his demands. So after his health crisis, he returned to a more focused job with less stress, but he’s in WWE full-time and Stephanie resigned in part because of the age of her kids. And even just the idea that they want to have enough money, enjoy life, and do some things for the company outside of work.

About Stephanie’s takeover as interim CEO, Keller said he’d heard a few things that led him to believe Stephanie could end up in that role permanently. Keller said: “Some of the things I’m hearing make me moot the possibility that this could lead to Stephanie taking over the helm of the company and Triple H and I have seen speculation on Twitter about that and I could absolutely imagine Paul Heyman taking on a bigger creative role. Paul Heyman gets along very well with Hunter and Stephanie. So I wouldn’t rule out that possibility. But again, this is inspired by someone who said a dream scenario would be Vince McMahon’s retirement [and] John Laurinaitis is stepping down and Stephanie is taking over and hiring Hunter and Paul to work together to run the company.”
