Cher stays away from foods high in fat, including many dairy products. “I’ve transitioned from whole milk to non-fat milk — if I drink milk at all,” she said in her book Cher Forever Fit: The Health, Fitness, and Beauty Life Plan. “I think cheese is one of the worst things on the body. It doesn’t digest well and most cheeses are too high in fat.” While many cheeses are certainly high in fat, there are low-fat cheeses that you can still eat while losing weight.

Instead, Cher eats natural sugars, which keep her energy levels up without the crash of processed foods. “Pasta gives me a lot of energy, as do fruits like bananas, papaya, and nectarines because they’re high in sugar but unrefined,” she wrote in her book.
