Humboldt County Public Health today reported the hospitalization of a resident 80 or older. No new deaths were reported. An additional 303 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 have been announced, as well as 127 new probable cases for the period between Tuesday 12th July and Tuesday 19th July. The total number of confirmed cases in the county is 20,360. An additional 4,372 cases are reported as likely.*

Local immunization data has been updated in the COVID-19 Data Dashboard. Highlights include:

  • Since the last weekly report of July 13, another 80 residents have completed their vaccination series.
  • As of Tuesday, a total of 90,777 people, or about 67% of the county’s total population, were fully vaccinated.

Test to Treat service is still available at the Wharfinger Building (1 Marina Way, Eureka). At test-to-treat sites, people will be tested for COVID-19 and if a person tests positive, is 12 years of age or older and treatment is deemed appropriate for them, Paxlovid antiviral medication will be administered free of charge. A registered nurse is on-site with a telemedicine link to a doctor to dispense medication if the patient so desires.

The service runs daily from 10am to 7pm and is closed from 11am to 12pm and 4pm to 5pm. Participants should bring a list of their medications and be prepared to answer basic questions about their medical history.

OptumServe also offers rapid antigen testing and PCR testing at Wharfinger. Walk-in attendees will only receive rapid antigen tests unless the attendee specifically states that they require a PCR test. Appointments for antigen testing can be made at lhi.care/covidtesting or by calling 888-634-1123. Wharfinger tests run from 7am to 7pm and are closed from 11am to 12pm and 4pm to 5pm

Vaccines remain readily available throughout Humboldt County, and as always, Humboldt’s vaccination and testing services are available at no cost. Walk-ins are welcome at all public health clinics and some pharmacy vaccination centers. Appointments can also be made at MyTurn.ca.gov.
