The San Francisco 49ers began organized team activities (OTAs) this week. Unfortunately, the media only had access to Tuesday’s session and missed Monday’s and Thursday’s drills. The good news is that the team posted videos of this week’s on-pitch action and did so again on Thursday.
Here are two videos that the 49ers posted on Thursday that should at least give fans some satisfaction. Among them are prominent names such as quarterback Trey Lance, tight end George Kittle, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and newcomers such as wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud.
The 49ers also released several photos from this week’s practice sessions.

No Shocker: Deebo Samuel Won’t Attend When 49ers Launch OTAs
The San Francisco 49ers kick off Organized Team Activities (OTAs) today. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will not be there. He’s still recovering from the March 8 surgery that stalled the team’s ability to trade him. However, most expect Garoppolo to be off the list by Week 1. Another notable absence will be that of wide receiver Deebo Samuel. This was confirmed by Ian Rapoport on Monday. Of course, this news shouldn’t surprise anyone. The #49ers begin OTAs today and star WR Deebo Samuel will not be in attendance, a source said. No
Fred Warner thinks Deebo Samuel ‘loves the team’ but Pelissero says 49ers, WR stay in ‘patch-off’
San Francisco 49ers star linebacker Fred Warner spoke to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero following the release of the NFL schedule yesterday. The Pro Bowl and All-Pro defenseman was asked about his disgruntled teammate, wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who requested a trade this offseason. Samuel is eligible for a contract extension but there has been no news on that. And the 49ers didn’t fulfill his trade request either. Warner told Pelissero that 49ers teammates, including quarterback Trey Lance and tight end George Kittle, have been in contact with Samuel since the swap request was made public last month. Pelissero urged Warner to reveal his confidence in Samuel playing for the 49ers against the Chicago Bears in Week 1. “I
George Kittle spoke to Deebo Samuel, says 49ers WR are ‘in a good place’
The drama surrounding Deebo Samuel has calmed down a bit. Much of this stems from the San Francisco 49ers not granting his pre-draft trade request. By not doing so, the team explained that they believe the relationship with their all-rounder can be repaired. George Kittle did the media rounds today. Of course, among the questions aimed at the All-Pro tight end is Samuel’s status. After all, it’s a story that dominated NFL headlines en route to the draft. “I actually spoke to him a few days ago,” Kittle said on The Pat McAfee Show. “Yes, he seemed to be in a good mood. He was hanging out with the kid he just had. … I didn’t ask about his contract, so we just talked about other things,
Report on Deebo Samuel’s situation, 49ers: ‘I think they can fix it’
On Monday, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel would not be attending the team’s organized team activities, which begin today. Wideout’s emergence would have greatly contributed to the team’s efforts to mend its relationship with the all-round star player, even if Samuel hadn’t taken part in on-pitch activities. At least that’s what Rapoport said during a Monday interview on The Pat McAfee Show. This does not mean that Rapoport believes the situation is impossible to resolve. In fact, the NFL insider believes Samuel will eventually return to the 49ers, which wasn’t a certainty in April when it was revealed the wideout had
