Apple's rumored 27-inch mini-LED display is now set to launch in October

Apple is now planning to launch a new 27-inch Mini-LED backlit display in October as the lockdown in Shanghai has said it has caused a delay in production of the display Display industry consultant Ross Young.

In a tweet, Young said Apple is in the process of moving production of the display from Quanta Computer to a different supplier and/or location, causing a delay. Young said it now looks like the display will be released in October, while previously claiming the display is on track for a June release, around Apple’s developer conference WWDC.

The mini-LED backlight would pave the way for the display to offer ProMotion with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. This could result in the display being essentially a “Studio Display Pro,” but it’s unclear if Apple would use that branding. Further details are still unknown, including pricing. Existing Studio display starts at $1,599.

Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, has previously revealed that the sixth-generation iPad mini will feature an 8.3-inch display and the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will feature ProMotion would dispose of.
