Capcom Showcase June 2022: All Announced Including Resident Evil Village Story DLC

The Capcom Showcase is here, revealing a ton of new details for previously announced games. While there were no new game announcements, we finally learned about Resident Evil Village’s long-awaited Shadows of Rose story DLC, we saw gameplay from Resident Evil 4 Remake, and we were treated to new looks from Exoprimal and Monster Hunter Rise : Sunbreak.

Oh, and we found out that we’ll soon be able to play as Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village’s Mercenaries mode!

More was revealed during the show’s 30-minute run, and this round-up gathers all the announcements and trailers in one place to make sure you don’t miss a thing.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is getting a new gameplay trailer and seems to be confirming a big new addition

Resident Evil 4 Remake received a few more seconds of gameplay at Capcom Showcase and may have also unveiled an important new feature in this updated version – the ability for Leon Kennedy to move while aiming his gun. We were also told that the game will feature “modern flourishes” and that the Ganado has been completely redesigned.

Resident Evil Village Winters expansion includes Shadows of Rose Story DLC

Capcom has finally unveiled the long-awaited Shadows of Rose – Resident Evil Village story DLC. The new story follows Ethan Winter’s daughter Rose and serves as a sort of sequel to the main campaign. Unlike the main game, Shadows of Rose will take place from a third-person perspective and will see Rose enter the “Megamycete consciousness,” a place where “time and space are warped beyond recognition.”

The Shadows of Rose story DLC will be released on October 28, 2022 as part of the Winters’ Expansion DLC.

You’ll soon be able to play as Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village’s mercenary mode

Resident Evil Village’s Winters expansion will also add The Mercenaries: Additional Orders, which will finally allow players to play as Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, among others. Chris Redfield and Karl Heisenberg will also join Mercenaries, and each will play in their own unique way. I mean, Lady Dimitrescu is over nine feet tall, so I think that makes sense!

The Mercenaries: Additional Orders will be released on October 28, 2022 as part of the Winters’ Expansion DLC.

Resident Evil Village is getting a third-person mode

Resident Evil Village is currently only playable in first-person mode, but that will change later this year when a new third-person mode is added as part of the Winters expansion. This new way to play Resident Evil Village lets players see the game from a whole new perspective, complete with new animations and more.

Resident Evil Village’s third-person mode will be released on October 28, 2022 as part of Winters’ Expansion DLC.

Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil 7 free next-gen upgrades are now available

Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil 7 are all getting free next-gen upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S today, June 13th. These updates will add support for 4K, high frame rate ray tracing, and 3D audio.

Resident Evil Re:Verse will be officially released this October

Resident Evil Re:Verse, the multiplayer game originally slated to release alongside Resident Evil Village, will officially release on October 28th, 2022. Re:Verse is a six-player PvP deathmatch game that puts players in the shoes of characters from across the Resident Evil series.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Expansion gets several new details and a demo

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is a “massive” expansion to the Switch and PC exclusive Monster Hunter Rise, and a new trailer over at Capcom Showcase revealed more details and that there’ll be a demo on June 14th, which is tomorrow!

The trailer also showed off some of the maps and monsters fans can expect, and these include returning monsters Daimyo Hermitaur, Espinas, Gore Magala, and Pyre Rakna Kadaki (new form). Monster Hunter 2’s Jungle map will also be available and will be upgraded to match Rise’s more open areas.

Lucent Naragacuga has also been announced to be coming to Sunbreak in August as part of a free Title Update 1. More free updates will come in fall, winter and next year.

Sunbreak will be released on June 30, 2022.

Exoprimal receives gameplay trailer, closed network test before release

Exoprimal, Capcom’s upcoming co-op dinomord action game, has received a new gameplay trailer and the promise of closed network testing ahead of its 2023 launch. The trailer gave a taste of the story, gameplay, and some of the dinosaurs the PvPvE game players will have to fight against.

Some of Exoprimal’s activities were also featured, including Dinosaur Cull, VTOL Defense, Data Key Security, Energy Taker, and Omega Charge.

Exoprimal will be released in 2023 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.

Street Fighter 6 is set to receive at least one more announcement in 2022

While we haven’t learned anything new about Street Fighter 6, it’s been revealed that we’ll get more details on the next entry in the legendary fighting series before the end of the year.

Dragon’s Dogma 10th Anniversary event teased but no sequel announcement

While many were hoping for an announcement of Dragon’s Dogma 2 at this Capcom Showcase, all we’ve been promised is that there will be a Dragon’s Dogma 10th Anniversary event on Thursday, June 16th. So while the reveal of a new game would have been a wonderful surprise, at least hope is still alive for this week!
