Poll: Which new Pokemon from the Scarlet & Violet trailer is your favorite?

We’re pretty sure no one has ever asked you to compare an olive, a mouse, and a pig. Maybe? Hopefully not. Well, that’s what we want to do today.

With the latest Pokémon Scarlet & Violet trailer, not only did we get a November release date, but we also saw some brand new mons alongside the three new starter Pokémon! And, well, we give our Ash Ketchum cap to Game Freak and The Pokémon Company, because from what we’ve seen, the Gen 9 roster is going to be a diverse and pretty incredible bunch.

This new trailer brought us three new regular pocket monsters alongside the two main characters of the legends. If you’re looking for the full stats and a Pokédex-style rundown, check out our ongoing list of every new Pokémon we’ve seen in the game so far – we’re going by feel and instinct here.

So let’s get to know them again!

Pawmi

Well, here is most likely your generation “Pikachu clone”. Every time we wonder if we need another electric mouse, one comes along and lets us “awwwww!” Just look at it! Those warm little eyes radiate happiness. And we can’t resist that little tuft of fur on his head – we just want to go in there and fluff him up a bit!

When we will be Yes, really picky, anything other than electric cheek pouches could have been a nice touch.

Lechonk

Ah, social media star. Lechonk might have one of the best Pokémon names of all time, and we can’t resist a good pun for a laugh here. We could go on and on about Lechonk here for a while—the sad eyes, the brown spots on his face, the pink muzzle and toes, the tiny little cock.

Pig-type Pokémon have often suffered from their evolutionary lines over the years, so let’s hope Lechonk gets the perfect evolution it so desperately deserves, otherwise we’ll never evolve ours.

Smoliv

Food-type Pokémon can be a little hit and miss, but Smoliv is definitely on the sweeter side. Its jagged mouth, empty eyes, and shaky posture make it look very fearful – and we will do everything we can to protect it. Please don’t try to knock it over, whatever you do.

We want to see the little guy with a smile though. Don’t tell us that’s her only expression Game Freak, we’ll worry about him until we get the game! Even if they go a week without eating or drinking, we still worry!

That’s quite a strong performance after our grass/fire/water starter trio that made a smashing first impression back in February.

The Pokémon Company is a bit more reticent with details about the legends of Scarlet and Violet, but let’s go ahead and get to know them too, shall we?

Koraidon and Miraidon

Definitely two of the most interesting iconic designs we’ve seen in a while, with some pretty eye-catching color palettes. All we have to do is look, and first impressions are pretty stunning.

Koraidon on the left has a pretty prehistoric bird/lizard design. Is that a smug grin on your face too? Well, feathers like that would probably make us feel pretty smug as well. The color mix is spot on too – white and black on the body and tail, and blue and pink on the feathers – as it breaks up the boldness of the red.

Miraidon is much more unnatural – in a good way! Is there energy or electricity flowing through it? Its purple “skin” looks metallic. It is floating. A lot of unusual things happen here that are really fun – like someone who smoothed Lunala along with Zekrom and added some robot parts. The pixelated eyes are just the icing on the cake, and we love the different shades of purple and splashes of bright yellow on his body.

With everything we know about these new Pokemon, and a few days in our belts, we’ve all had a little time to think, crawl, possess, and ponder these new little (and big) creatures. Were Wooloo and Morpeko dethroned by Lechonk and Pawmi? Are Koraidon and Miraidon beating up Zacian and Zamazenta? And – what we Yes, really Do you want to know – who is your choice for the best Pokemon from Scarlet and Violet so far?

Vote below in our polls to let us know, then share your choices in the comments! We know it’s hard, but we believe in you – you get to choose!
