The TCL 65-inch 5 Series with Google TV is at a new low of $549.99

With the recent announcement of Amazon Prime Day returning on July 12th and 13th, you might be thinking that the best deals on things like TVs are yet to come. There are bound to be great discounts that you can take advantage of, but we have prepared a few for you right here and now.

Today you’re getting the best price yet for the 65-inch TCL 5 Series TV, reduced to $549.99 at Amazon and Best Buy. This model comes equipped with Google TV for all your streaming needs, and slightly bucks the trend of TCL sets that come with Roku’s software – although this version also has the same $150 discount if that’s what you prefer. Normally priced at $699.99, the TCL 5 Series offers a lot of value at full price, including Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support. Google Assistant voice control is also built into the Google TV version. However, if you don’t want your TV to have mics listening to that key phrase, there’s a physical switch on the back to turn it off. Ultimately, at $549.99, this is a lot of TV for the money, undercutting its fancier Mini-LED 6-Series cousin by almost half.

TCL 5 series (S546, 65 inch)

TCL’s 5-series S546 features a brilliant QLED panel, supports variable refresh rate and leverages the Google TV platform. It also comes with support for Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and HDR10+, much like the latest 6 Series.

If you need a tablet for a kid and seem to think your kid is “pro” enough, Amazon’s Fire 7 Kids Pro is currently half price on Best Buy and Amazon. The small tablet normally costs $99.99, but you can get it in one of four colors/themes for $49.99. You’re not paying much for the tech, but in a way you’re paying with some inconveniences – this 2019 tablet uses a micro-USB connector. The newer Fire 8 and Fire 10 Kids tablets have recently been upgraded with USB-C, newer processors, and more RAM, but this price undercuts them all. And like other Amazon Kids devices, it comes in a durable case and has a two-year warranty against accidental damage.

Amazon Fire 7 Kids Pro

This 7-inch tablet is aimed at kids aged six and up, with a reinforced shell to protect against drops and a two-year warranty that covers accidental damage. It features a micro USB port and 16GB of onboard storage, expandable to 512GB via microSD.

Amazon is offering a daily price for a two-pack of its Eero Pro 6 mesh WiFi routers. You can get the two routers for $319, which is a savings of $80 off the regular price. This deal usually comes around every month or so, and while it’s possible, it could drop lower for Prime Day in just under a month.

A newer model of Eero routers is now available, although it costs $499 for a similar two-pack. It’s nice to be future-proof, but that’s a little hard to swallow. Meanwhile, these latest generation Eero Pro 6 routers can cover a home up to 3,500 square feet and reach gigabit speeds as well as support Wi-Fi 6. They are compact and easy to set up great coverage. Two of these routers should be enough for most average-sized homes, unless you have a particularly tricky layout or very thick walls. Read our review.

The Eero 6 Pro mesh router is designed to fill homes up to 3,500 square feet with fast (up to gigabit) internet connections. It supports Wi-Fi 6 protocol as well as Zigbee connections for smart home devices.

  • Woot has some discounts on Razer and SteelSeries PC accessories including gaming mice, keyboards and mouse/desk mats. You can get the Razer Gigantus v2 Cloth Gaming Mouse Pad, which is large enough to cover your own desk, for $34.99 ($15 off).
