It’s the weekend, so it’s time for another Dealmaster. Our latest roundup of the web’s best tech deals is spearheaded by a truckload of discounts on good PC games. Most of this is due to the return of the Epic Games Store’s annual “Mega Sale,” which began earlier this week and runs through June 16th.
As with previous promotions from Epic’s PC games storefront, the main feature of the new offering is the offer of an unlimited coupon valid for any purchase of $14.99 or more. On previous sales, that coupon amounted to a flat $10 discount, but Epic says it’s now offering a 25 percent discount. That means you won’t save as much on less expensive games as you did before — a $15 game that would have dropped to $5 in previous sales after redeeming the coupon now costs $11.25 — but you’ll get a little more back , when games come closer to full price. For example a newer game like LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagawhich normally retails for $50 on PC can be purchased here for $37.49 after using the coupon.
You’ll first need to log into an Epic account and manually claim the coupon, but once you do it will automatically renew after each use until the sale ends next month. Note that you only need to have at least $14.99 worth of games in your shopping cart for the coupon to apply: something like Disco Elysium, an Ars favorite on sale for $14, would not qualify for the additional 25 percent off on its own, but adding another discounted game to your cart to break the $15 threshold does count the voucher for both titles individually at the checkout. As with previous Epic sales, the coupon does not apply to DLC or in-game purchases, nor does it work with pre-orders.
Because the coupon stacks on top of the sale’s ongoing discounts, many of the prices here are lower than what we’ve seen on sales from competing storefronts like Steam or Humble. To help you find a good deal again, we’ve searched Epic’s entire selection to select the discounts we think are most worth your attention. Our full pick list is below, but some highlights include new lows on Ars-approved zelda-how tunicthe satisfying roguelite Villain Legacy 2and other well-regarded 2022 games like the kung fu brawler Sifu and the aforementioned Lego Star Wars. The PC ports of blockbusters like Red Dead Redemption 2, God of Warand death stranding are as cheap as we’ve seen, and some smaller games we like are also at or near bottoms. Epic says it will continue giving away a free game each week as part of the sale; start, that is borderland 3. if you not If you see a game you want in our roundup, we recommend using a price tracking site like IsThereAnyDeal to make sure you’re getting a real discount.
If you can’t bear to add more games to your backlog, our roundup features many other notable deals, including discounts on the handy 1Password password manager, Hulu subscriptions, AirPods, an excellent LG OLED TV, recommended board games, and microSD cards , and more. Our full summary is below.
