While the new Madone and the poorly camouflaged bolide grabbed all the pre-Tour attention, Cervelo snuck the new S5 into the wilderness in front of all of us without anyone noticing. Hidden in plain sight, ridden to stage and overall victory, the new S5 is finally being released.

Today’s best aero bikes take design inspiration from their TT cousins as much as what we would think of as a “normal” road bike. Perhaps more than any other model, the Cervelo S5 is the TT of the crowd, with its drastic rear seat tube slot, split stem reminiscent of TT aero extension posts, and folding head tube assembly.
